Overview
Problems
😩 Young adults don’t have an easily accessible and motivational career tool to help them enter the workforce.
😩 Guidance counselors lack engaging material to offer their students that would encourage them to discover new fields of work.
😩 Career aptitude tests have been stuck in the medieval ages and have needed a long awaited glow-up.
Solution
🥳 Create an interactive tool that helps motivate users discover a career that would make them happy. Heavily focus on making the application design engaging, useful, and fun!
How might we deliver top notch career discovery resources whilst keeping the process fun and enjoyable for the user
Job Quest is a career quiz game that guides you on your journey to find the job that suits you best. Complete quizzes and games along the career path to determine what personality traits and skills you possess. The games ends with a list of potential career matches with detailed career profiles that help users know exactly how to enter each field of work.
This user experience design is focused on keeping users engaged and motivated to explore careers. The results are specifically designed to ease a user into any field of work they want to explore.

After an initial interview process with 10 participants, pain points were noted, and primary users were narrowed down. I created two personas with individual problem statements to guide the rest of my design.
🚨 Not Helpful
Users do not follow through with past assessment results because the test did not give them instructions on how to pursue the specific results.
🚨 Convenience
Users claim they haven't seen a phone app that would help with career advice, other than self searching on job boards
🚨 Intimidating
Clients feel empowered as they can actively participate in the customization process, resulting in higher satisfaction levels.

Initial Research

Then I started brainstorming
Testing the Concept
Sketches and Wireframes:
I started planning the design with pen and paper and then moved my designs into Figma to create simple digital wireframes.
Low Fidelity Prototype:
The user flow was simplified but very similar to the final design. The participant would begin at Log In -> Follow game steps > End at Results. Although the game went through many different alterations, the end result has a similar flow.

Final Touches
Final Mockups:
Job Quest took its final form January of 2022. The final prototype was complete and it was time to reflect on how far it had come. I hope you enjoy the final product.

Website Revamp
Overview
I had the pleasure of being a part of a fun, scrappy, and incredibly talented volunteer group of product designers and researchers to tackle this project: Revamping the company’s website to better communicate company goals and to draw in partners/investors. Primarily focusing on investor and store pages.
Collaborating with the SOMO team that respects, supports, and pushes for betterment of entrepreneurs across East Africa.

The main tasks I collaborated with:
-
Usability Testing
-
Literature Review Research
-
Affinity Mapping
-
User Flows
-
Wireframing
-
Homepage Hi-fidelity
-
Complex Component Prototyping

What is Somo?
Empowering Entrepreneurs in East Africa
Somo identifies, trains, funds, and mentors entrepreneurs in their own low-income communities within Kenya and the rest of South Africa. Somo hopes to break the cycle of poverty and help bring long-term stability to urban slum areas.
🇰🇪 Challenge
The Somo organization believed that they were not receiving adequate attention from investors and donors. These key users are what builds the financial capital of their entrepreneur program.
Upon initial observations, my team felt their website was not easily navigable, inconsistent in design, and did properly communicate Somo's mission. Much of the website was focused on speaking to the entrepreneurs and not necessarily addressing who they would like to speak to - the investors.
🇰🇪 Goal & Scope
Re-design Somo's Homepage, Investor page, and Donor pages to enhance Somo's reach to investors, donors, and corporate partners.

Front End Configuration Guides
2024

Interactive Front End Configuration Guides
How might we improve communication of our product's configurations with clients to reduce avoidable CRs and create a source of truth for internal teams?
A set of interactive prototypes that clients and internal teams can use to better understand the functionality and limitations of the Scientific Games Ensemble and iLottery loyalty platforms.
My Role
• UX/UI lead project owner
• Concept, design, and implementation
• UI design & prototype for Web
The Team
• 2 UX/UI Designers
• 1 UX/UI Director
• 1 Product Manager
• 2 Development Manager
Planning Stage
As the project lead, I initiated a baseline project planning meeting where the team identified the problem, brainstormed the goal, factored in the scope, determined possible pitfalls, estimated timelines, and discussed the client and developer user needs.
Challenge
Scientific Games' loyalty club product boasts a comprehensive suite of features and customization options. However, conveying the product's complexity and enabling clients to envision their unique branding was challenging through traditional communication channels. The need for a solution that simplifies communication, aids development, and provides clients with a clear understanding of the product's capabilities was evident.
Solution
To create an interactive front-end configuration guide that revolutionizes how we communicate and collaborate with clients and developers. This guide not only showcases the various components of our lottery loyalty product but also allows clients to interact with and leave comments throughout each element in real-time. The guide boasts the following key features:
• Interactive Hover Functionality
• Clean Design and Onboarding Process
• Comprehensive Explanations
• Customization and Branding
• Commenting System

Building Process
Moving to Figma:
Recognizing the project's complexity, the design team made a practical decision to shift from using Adobe XD to Figma, as Figma offered more suitable features. Alongside creating the guide, the initial step involved recreating our loyalty project from scratch in Figma, frame by frame, to develop a functional prototype. This also included creating a "brand-less" version of our product that had yet to be created.

Organization:
With such complexity, it was also important to utilize all organizational elements available within the latest version of Figma. Sections, slices, frames, pages, categorized components and layer groups were essential to maintaining a clean workspace. This ensured the prototype and information could be viewed by developers and replicated for future client branding.

Complex Prototyping:
Prototyping this size of a project was certainly a challenge. As the entire prototype is interactive, there were hundreds of hover components. As well as component hover interactions, very page contains a tabbed information component that the user can click through to view more details about the page. Those information screens also differed between external and internal versions of the configuration guide.

Problems solved!
👏 Enhanced Collaboration
The interactive guide bridges the gap between developers and clients, fostering better collaboration and understanding of design choices.
👏 Streamlined Development:
By enabling real-time visualization and customization, the guide accelerates the development process, reducing the back-and-forth iterations.
👏 Client Empowerment:
Clients feel empowered as they can actively participate in the customization process, resulting in higher satisfaction levels.
👏 Reduced Miscommunication:
The commenting system ensures that clients' questions are addressed promptly, minimizing miscommunication and enhancing clarity.
Conclusion
The Interactive Front-End Configuration Guide has revolutionized how our company interacts with clients and develops the Ensemble Loyalty Club product. By providing an intuitive platform for clients to explore, customize, and collaborate, we've significantly streamlined the development process and enhanced client engagement. The guide's clean design, step-by-step onboarding process, comprehensive explanations, and interactive elements ensure a seamless experience that meets clients' needs and exceeds their expectations.
Feedback and Continued Usage
The Interactive Front-End Configuration Guide has received positive recognition from internal stakeholders and since this project I have created FE Configuration guides for our newest product, iLottery Infinium.
