End-to-End teamwork

Collaboration

I worked alongside the lead Drawings Manager and lead Product Manager to shape the requirements and achieve the improved workflow and expectation desired for this improved product.

While creating the initial design we met on a weekly basis to discuss updates and revisions as well as discuss any edge cases that the Drawings team has encountered in the meantime.

Omni-Secure Drawing System

Advanced sweepstakes drawing system created to streamline promotional drawings and maintain a high-level of security.

Make Drawings Smarter

Make a tool that can link multiple drawing service servers and relay data all in one place. Create auto-reviews for ineligible winners.

Make Drawings Safer

Reduce entry points and connect to existing Maestro credentials. Increase user-facing confirmations and provide real-time logs.

Make Drawings Easier

Create an easy step-by-step process to conduct a drawing. Increase productivity with file packages for exporting deliverables.

This is Linda,

A tireless fictional Drawings Manager who is our user persona. She is modeled from the lovely Drawings team over at Scientific Games.

Linda works a lot. It's just past 7pm and she's still at work conducting drawings for a lottery client. She is triple-checking her winner's list to ensure the system is fair and secure. Exporting multiple documents from 3 different softwares. Linda has had to do it this way for years.

She is concerned at any little human mistake could cost her company a huge legal battle.

This is what Linda has done in the past to conduct a drawing.

Workflows

It takes all day, using the help of 3 different softwares including manual input into Excel to complete a drawing and obtain all of the data and exports that she needs for auditing and sweeps departments. As I listening and took notes on her workflow, I was originally going to map out her most upset moments (hense the emojis), but I quickly learned that the pain points never stop. The entire process was filled with inconveniences, from multiple excessive steps, to losing print outs, to having to refresh pages just to fulfill tasks, to waiting through long processing times, Linda couldn't catch a break and this is what Linda does multiple times a month for years. It's a process that needed to change.

Old Flow.png

This is what Linda has to do now.

After reviewing the grievances and re-evaluating the possibilities we have to combine steps and automate manual processes, we have dwindled Linda's workflow down to a whopping 10 steps. Not only does she have less to do, she is given even more control over what she CAN do, focusing on putting the power back into Linda's hands and reducing meticulous tasks. Her workflow has decreased and her onboarding for future Drawings Managers is as simple as opening the software and letting the step-by-step nature of OSDS guide their way.

Dark Mode

Extra Consideration

Working on large amounts of data was sure to strain some eyes, it was important that we put as much consideration toward the user as possible with this new internal tool. Dark Mode was something I really wanted to push for if we were going to be creating such a complete product that may not have the chance for updates any time soon. I want to make sure no stone was left unturned, and a dark-mode was the icing on the cake.

Collapse and Expand

Allowing easy access to minimizing the screen size 50% was an idea brought upon watching the drawings manager reference various lottery Rules.pdf documents to confirm parameters as she reviewed information in the system. The computers the team operates on often only have one monitor, not allowing for side by side applications.
